In the past, we elected deputies of the National Assembly through direct elections; in every community, the citizen personally knew the deputy responsible for their area.

In the past, we elected the president of the republic and knew who the high-ranking official responsible for territorial integrity was.

In the past, we elected mayors, village heads, and members of the city council whom we knew personally and raised our issues through them.

Today, we do not elect our deputies - that is left to the parties; today, we do not elect our president - that is left to the deputies whom we do not elect, and those deputies we did not elect choose our president, whom we again did not elect...

Today, we do not elect the Prime Minister, who is the head of the executive branch; the Prime Minister is elected by deputies not elected by us, and in reality, we have no direct connection with either the deputies or the Prime Minister... meaning all officials are elected indirectly through intermediaries. What is this? What a disgrace.

Today, we do not elect the mayors of our cities... we elect some party lists, and the councils from those party lists elect someone as mayor who might never have become mayor in a direct election... now, what part of this is democratic, and what does any of this have to do with the people?

I am a specialist in constitutional law, and I promise you to change this disgrace from top to bottom, to make the citizen the master of the situation, to make the citizen the master of power and the real former of authority. For that, what needs to be done? Go to the polling station on June 7 and vote for Bright Armenia.
