EU Wants a Share in the Trip, New Developments Expected in Syunik | Platform 82
We discussed the inexcusable behavior of the Deputy Director of the Opera and Ballet Theater, who climbed onto the tombstones near the Veharan in the area adjacent to the Mother Cathedral. This incident once again showed the true level of the government's attitude toward the church. Nevertheless, the church was once again able to rid itself of treacherous attempts and, for the third time now, by standing firm in its positions, broke the logic of the government's compulsions.
We also paid special attention to the fact that the candidate for mayor of Etchmiadzin, accompanied by NSS officers without uniforms, was moving toward the Mother Cathedral as part of boycott actions. This circumstance raises serious questions about both the real goals of these processes and the political involvement of state structures.
In the international context, we addressed the national security strategy published by the US, trying to understand its impact on global and regional processes. We also discussed the fact that Europe today has weak and incapable leaders who are unable to respond effectively to the serious challenges facing them.
We also touched upon Nikol Pashinyan's statements that Donald Trump is allegedly on Armenia's side. However, a key question arises here: does this correspond to reality, or are the actual processes proceeding with Aliyev? Developments around Syunik show that both the European Union and Russia are negotiating not with Nikol Pashinyan but with other actors, which speaks to a serious weakening of Armenia's role and subjectivity.
Edmon Marukyan and Karpis Pashoyan, within the framework of the Platform podcast, discuss the truths that they believe are as essential as air and water for Armenia and the Armenian people, as well as the challenges facing Armenia.
