Western Azerbaijan's Plans, or How Pashinyan Brought Peace to Armenia
In this issue, I presented details of my visit to The Hague, where I raised issues of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh and the destruction of the Armenian church and culture. Azerbaijan is waging powerful international propaganda, and Armenia must counter it by presenting its truth on all platforms.
We discussed Pashinyan's campaign to "humanize" Aliyev and how public figures returning from Baku play an additional role in it. Pashinyan's "price of peace" is unambiguous: Armenia must gradually transform into "Western Azerbaijan." The people who brought war are now preaching peace to those same people.
Baku is using this process to justify itself on international platforms and avoid responsibility for the 150,000 displaced Armenians of Artsakh. The next step could be the resettlement of Azerbaijanis in Armenian villages.
We also discussed the church crisis, Pashinyan's attempts to exert influence, and Turkey's growing role in the region. If the opposition can pursue the right policies, the possibility of a change in government becomes a reality.
